The Daily Telegraph
The StareheFuture Appeal is extremely grateful for the wonderful support shown by The Daily Telegraph and its readership during the Telegraph’s Christmas Charity Appeal 2009.
During three months over Christmas The Daily Telegraph published articles and interviews that captured the powerful and enduring impact the Starehe Boys’ and Girls’ Centres have had and continue to have in Kenya.
With a daily readership of more than three quarters of a million people, this regular coverage offered StareheFuture an unparalleled opportunity to raise its profile in the UK and, with the generosity of all those who helped, we were able to raise the incredible sum of more than £160,000 for the Starehe Centres! This money has provided one Daily Telegraph ‘lifetime scholarship’ at each school, as well as helping the Girls’ Centre to build a brand new kitchen/dining room, and providing the Boys’ Centre with a sustainable source of electricity.
